FLIGHT: AN EXPLORATION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE THROUGH WORD, MUSIC, AND MOVEMENT

Returning to the stage after it’s original performance in 2023, Flight follows the true stories of 4 individuals effected by domestic violence. Interwoven with their words are songs and movement that more fully express the depth of despair and courageous hope that accompanied them along the way.

We have an expanding group of project partners for this endeavor and multiple venues to increase the reach of education and awareness around the issue of domestic violence.

Post-show discussions with staff from The Dwelling Place, a nonprofit organization offering safe, transitional housing and Christ-centered supportive services for women & children who have suffered domestic abuse will be offered at all of these performances.

This production is in partnership with the Anoka County Violence Prevention Roundtable. There will be a resource fair dedicated to local groups working on domestic violence prevention and support. The Silent Witness Exhibit will be on display in the Narthex and refreshments will be provided after the performance.

All performances will feature an optional post-show discussion with staff from The Dwelling Place, a Christ-centered ministry providing healing and hope to victims of domestic abuse through supportive services and a safe, transitional place to call home.

This production is for mature audiences only as it contains descriptions and physical depictions of domestic violence and is available to audiences due to the efforts of the Anoka County Violence Prevention Roundtable.
